Healthy and Delicious Game Day Snacks

Healthy Game Day Snacks

Football season is a time when friends and family get together and eat wings, nachos, and other fun party foods that may throw off your personal health goals. Never fear! We have some healthier alternatives to typical game day snacks that will satisfy any craving. Because here at Brook we know a healthy lifestyle can only succeed if it’s satisfying and delicious. No deprivation required!

Seven Layer Dip

Who doesn’t love digging into a good 7-layer dip? This classic is given a health boost with crunchy and refreshing raw veggies, Greek yogurt instead of sour cream, and lots of fiber from the beans. Yum!

Oven Baked Buffalo Wings

If buffalo wings are a must at your game day party, try these homemade oven baked wings. They are baked instead of fried, and the recipe skips the butter. Both help to reduce the fat and calories per serving. Serve with lots of fresh celery and carrot sticks for crunch, fiber, and nutrients.

If you’ve never tried cowboy caviar, we think it’s going to become your new favorite game day snack. It’s easy to make, works great for potlucks, and tastes so good you’ll forget it’s healthy.

Turkey Chili

If you want something a little more hearty to fill you up on game day, try this slow cooker turkey chili. It’s packed with veggies, fiber, and protein to keep you cheering your team on ’til the last snap.

Date Snickers

This healthy take on a snickers bar uses medjool dates instead of a bunch of added sugar. If you’ve never had a medjool date before, trust us, you’re about to fall in love. They’re sweet and sticky and chewy and delicious. Best of all? Give them a try – we promise you’ll be glad you did.

Remember: don’t stress if you decide to eat the original versions of these foods or other so-called “unhealthy” options available at a party. This is just one day in your health journey, and you’re allowed to enjoy yourself! Some days all we can do is stay hydrated and make time for a quick stroll around the block…and that’s ok. Re-commit to your healthy eating plan at the next meal or the next day, check in to make sure every day isn’t an “exception” day, and most importantly, don’t be too hard on yourself.
