Terri’s Star Story

“My weight has gone from 139 pounds to 119 pounds, which means I’m finally out of the ‘overweight’ category for BMI!”

Terri joined Brook+ after comparing the different programs offered by her insurance for her prediabetes. She chose Brook+ because she knows she responds well to being rewarded for reaching milestones. She was also excited by the idea of receiving a wireless scale, removing the need to log her weights manually. “The tools they offered, like the scale and the Fitbit, encouraged me to be active and keep moving forward, all while tracking my progress,” Terri said. “Besides, who doesn’t love getting things for free?”

In the beginning of her program, Terri was shocked to see exactly what she was (or wasn’t) eating and drinking. “You never really know how many calories you’re eating, or how little water you’re drinking until you track your intake for a bit. Brook+ gave me the tools necessary to become mindful about my eating – I didn’t realize I was eating out of boredom, or just because the people around me were. Now I’m eating healthier and feel lighter because I’m giving my body what it craves and needs.”

“What have you got to lose, except excess weight and old habits that are holding you back?”

Terri told us “I’ve noticed that my clothes are fitting looser. I no longer need a nap after eating, or feel so full it hurts. My blood pressure is more consistently in the ‘normal’ range. My weight has gone from 139 pounds to 119 pounds, which means I’m finally out of the ‘overweight’ category for BMI! It’s exciting to see the change in my body and how much better I feel about myself.”

“I strongly suggest everyone give this program a try,” Terri continued. “It’s easy to use and your coach is there to support you. You are not alone. All the program participants are on their journey to the healthier person they want and need to be. What have you got to lose, except excess weight and old habits that are holding you back?”
