Michael found Brook through his health insurance. He had been diagnosed with diabetes and hypertension, and he had a BMI of 49 in the ‘morbidly obese’ category. He set up a Telenutrition appointment with Registered Dietitian and Brook Health Coach Joelle. “Joelle recommended I give the Brook app a try,” said Michael. “The app was able to sync with my Fitbit so I could see everything in one place.”
The more Michael used Brook, the more he realized its potential to help him get his numbers on track. “The app keeps a running total of all your reported blood sugars and blood pressures. When it comes to weight loss, the most important tool on Brook is the Food Journal and seeing how what you eat affects your blood sugars,” Michael said. “The app reminds you to take your medications on whatever schedule you have and asks if you’ve done any exercise during the day.”
Michael started to see amazing results he was never able to get before on his own. “I became accountable to myself to control my numbers. My A1c went from 9 to 5.6 in three months. Had I not been so diligent with using Brook, I doubt if I would have received those results.”
“You have nothing to lose except the fear and dangers posed by diabetes and excess weight,” Michael said. “It takes less than 2 minutes a couple of times a day. I’m finally on my way back to being healthy.”
